Timothy & Athanasia
Davis

GLBM Missionary & Representative
Golden Myanmar Community Development

Malawmyine, Mon State

  • Facebook - White Circle

From the age of ten, Brother Davis knew that he was to follow in the footsteps of Adoniram Judson. He would tell you that his whole life has been in preparation to reach souls for Christ in Myanmar.

Following a military coup in 1962, all missionaries were ejected from the country and the people of Myanmar were purposefully isolated from the entire world for more than fifty years. And yet, leaving family and friends behind, the Davis family has recently completed their first five years in a place where no one thought they could go. Tim has become fluent in the language and "Annie" is making great progress. Many souls have been saved; a Burmese hymnal has been translated and published; a new church building has been erected; and Tim is completing a Burmese-English interlinear New Testament.

Peter & Ruth Judson
Joshua, Sarah, Charity

Myanmar born-American Citizens
Pastor, Church-Planter, Educator,

GLBM Missionary & Representative
Malawmyine, Mon State

After pastoring a church he started in Thailand, Peter, then called Kyaw Kyaw Aung, and his wife Ruth came with their children to the U.S. as refugees.

From the Pa-O tribe, Peter was the first convert to Christ in his people group. From the beginning of his Christian experience, he had a great burden for souls, and his mother was his first convert.

After struggling to survive in refugee camps for many years, it was their dream to come to America. And it took them five years to become citizens of the U.S. But, after meeting BaGyi Bob and hearing his burden for Myanmar, the Judsons chose to return to their homeland to preach the Gospel and win their own people to Christ.

It took less than two weeks to win a dozen souls to Christ and start the Malawmyine Baptist Church where, partnering with the Davis family, they are building a great work for God.

Thaung Ngain Lian

Pastor, Church-Planter, Educator,

GLBM Representative
Dagon Saikkan, Yangon

Saya Thaung was born high in the Chin State mountains, in a village called Tedim. After graduating from Bible college in the Philippines and knowing he would face persecution, he returned to his homeland with a burden to preach the Gospel of Christ and build an Independent, fundamental Baptist church. And, indeed, he and his wife, "Cin Mann," have built the Bethany Baptist Church, Christian Academy, Ophanage, Cornerstone Baptist College, Blessing Water Company, and Golden Myanmar Community Development. Through young men he has personally trained, his church has started sixteen other churches across Myanmar, with  more to come. It is our joy and privilege to partner with Thaung Lian and his people to reach more souls in the Golden Land for Christ.

A Lin

Pastor/Church-Planter
Mingaladon Township

Yangon Division

Originally from Palatwa, a village in southern Chin State,  A Lin started his church after training with Thaung Lian and launching out in Mingaladon by faith. He and his wife, Hser Moo Eh, have two children and care for many orphans. A Lin is a true soul winner and his church has grown much.

When BaGyi Bob first visited A Lin and Hser Moo Eh, their church and twenty orphans were living and worshipping in a one-room hut and running out of space. GLBM helped him to acquire a larger compound and again they are running out of space, baptizing new converts regularly and adding them to the church.

Lal Ram Hngak
(Pastor Steven)

Pastor/Founder, Grace Baptist Church
Shwe Pyi Thar, Yangon Division

Steven was working in Thailand as a pastor for Burmese-speaking people. His dream was to return to Myanmar and start a church in his homeland. Through GLBM, BaGyi Bob helped Steven and his family do just that. A piece of property was purchased, a single-floor church house was built and, as the community and new converts filled the space, a second floor was added as living quarters for Steven's family. He and his wife, Tan Tan Ye, have two children: William and Emily. Together, they are evangelizing their community for Christ.

Peter Van Siang Lian

Pastor/Founder
Myanmar Independent Baptist Church,

Kanan Village, Sagaing Division

Peter founded the Myanmar Independent Baptist Church in the Sagaing Division-village called Kanan. With a heart for young people, he started a ministry to bring them to faith in Christ. When BaGyi Bob first visited Peter's ministry, he met Peter's orphans and more than one hundred area teens who lived, worshipped, and worked for a place to live. BaGyi recalls, "The Spirit of God was evidently at work and brought freedom to preach the Word of God." That first time BaGyi preached there, seven young people received Christ and, publically professing their faith, they were soon baptized by immersion.

Peter and his wife, Mercy, have lived by faith and started two churches and is currently working on a third.

Joel Myint Aung

Pastor/Founder
Grace Baptist Church

Oakkan, Yangon Division

Joel and his wife are originally from Palatwa in Southern Chin State. After training with GLBM's Thaung Lian, they moved to Oakkan to plant a church. It was originally located in a very modest one-room shack, built on stilts behind a squalid swamp. The whole structure swayed back and forth under the weight of congregants or the strong winds of monsoonal rains. GLBM raised the funds to build a foundation underneath the building. Joel and his family lived upstairs and the church met below. But soon, leading many to Christ, the property became altogether inadequate. Unbeknownst to BaGyi Bob, Joel sold the property, and having improved it much, made enough to buy another property. By faith, he built a concrete, hurricane-proof structure and has filled it up with more converts, baptizing regularly. Joel was fearful of telling BaGyi about the new property. But BaGyi said, "No, you are a faithful servant like the man in Matthew 25 who was given five talents but gained another five for the Lord."

Joseph Than Zaw

Pastor - Evangelist - Church Planter
Sagaing Division

Than Zan and his family received Christ through the ministry of a Chin Tribe evangelist and, when they began to witness for Christ, they were literally driven from their Buddhist village. His father started a church in another village and Than Zaw went to Bible college in India. Learning to speak English well, Than Zaw returned to his homeland, started a language school and ministry for children that was soon chartered as a church. He has now started a second church in a village where there is a large Buddhist temple, three monasteries, but where there's never been a church of any kind. Both churches are growing and Than Zaw and his wife are leaders in their community.

Isaac Khong

GLBM Church Planter

Mandalay

Isaac came from Palatwa, Southern Chin State to Yangon for one reason - to study with Pastor Thaung Lian at the Cornerstone Baptist College, a ministry of the Bethany Baptist Church. There he received a burden for souls, a love for the Holy Scriptures, a conviction about local church authority and autonomy, and the drive and discipline to build a New Testament church. After finishing the four-year program, he launched out by faith with no support and moved to Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar. There, going door to door and witnessing everyday, God is using him to build a new church. Please consider financial support for Isaac through GLBM.

Levi

GLBM Church Planter

Taunggyi, Shan State

Levi proved his faithfulness at the Cornerstone Baptist College in Yangon, studying under Pastor Thaung Lian. As all the preacher boys, he prayed long, seeking God's will and the exact place where he should plant a church and build a people for God. When BaGyi Bob visited his place, he found Levi living in a most humble way, yet doing an amazing work. We are convinced that Levi will build a great church and win many souls to Christ in Shan State. Please support Levi through GLBM.

Tin Taing
"Matthew"

GLBM Church Planter
Aye Thar Yar, Shan State

"Matthew" knows exactly what God wants him to do. He worked diligently to prepare himself at the Cornerstone Baptist College and, immediately after graduation, with a license to preach, a commission from his sending church, and the blessing of his mentor, Thaung Lian, he headed to Aye Thar Yar. He has found a place to live and hold church services, and has been going door to door, witnessing for Christ and winning souls. Like all of our preacher boys, he needs monthly support, but with or without money, he is doing the work of God and extremely happy about it. Please pray for "Matthew" and support him financially through GLBM.
